Notes on using Huntsville ozonesonde data:
- An IDL reading program is provided (click here). This procedure will read .LE1 format.
- Important notes regarding the flight are recorded within the Excel spreadsheet which notes interference of signal, data loss, sonde preparation problems, and interesting observations.
- Meteorological data recorded before, after, and during each sonde flight is provided (links are in the Excel spreadsheet), unless otherwise noted.

File description (by extension)
All of these files are contained within the HUXXX-DATA.zip (or .rar) file.
.DE1 – contains meta data about conditions during preparation of the sonde as well as during the flight.
.DAT – contains the raw data in CSV format with some basic meta data.
.LE1 – (Recommended for data analysis) contains the raw data in CSV format averaged over 100 meter intervals which stays within the accuracy of the ozonesonde.
.MES – log file of STRATO session during flight.
.RAW – contains the raw data.
