Observed convective cloud-numerical weather prediction model comparisons for improved microphysical parameterizations, and toward understanding how satellite observations can validate numerical weather prediction model forecasts.

Machine learning to improve the 0-4 hour nowcasting of convective storms, planetary boundary layer profile development over oceans, and the prediction of storm severity.

Microphysical analysis of above anvil cirrus plumes within convective storms, and as related to severe weather.

GOES solar insolation estimation for evapotranspiration modeling and water management.

Convective nowcasting methods related to the use of 1- and 2.5-min resolution multi-spectral GOES-16 and Meteosat Third Generation imagery.
