The Human Dimensions, Discovery, and Decision-Making (HD3) lab at UAH addresses environmental concerns throughout the southeastern U.S. through the analysis of remote sensing datasets and geospatial applications. The southeast region is subject to environmental concerns ranging from water quality, to crop stress, severe weather, coastal erosion, hydraulic fracturing, ecological habitat destruction, human population growth and more. In general, the HD3 lab serves as an interdisciplinary test-bed facility to evaluate the scalability of small- to medium-sized research questions concerning current southeast environmental issues with the help of faculty and student researchers at UAH.
