In an attempt to gather important data, UAH atmospheric science graduate students
chased violent thunderstorm cells, including some that produced deadly tornadoes.
UAHuntsville’s severe weather research team prepares and launches a weather balloon
that is swept into a nearby storm. Others used advanced radar to monitor the storms.
A mobile suite of remote sensing instruments let the UAH team gather critical data.
