Brown Bag Seminar (11-9-11)

The role of Natural Environment in Space Vehicle Development

Jeff Anderson, NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center

NASA/UAH Atmospheric Science Seminar Presentation

Wednesday, November 9th-- NSSTC 4065 – 12:45 pm

The scientist studies the atmosphere to understand how and why it works.
The forecaster studies it to understand how to predict what will happen in
the future. There is, however, another totally different realm of
application for knowledge of the atmosphere and natural environment, and
that is engineering. This will be a discussion of the challenges and
technical issues aerospace engineers face in the atmosphere and space
environments. For this application, the emphasis is on the statistics of
the atmosphere and numerical simulation of atmospheric events.
